Surprise Pro Plumbing is a referral service, not a licensed contractor. We connect you with independent, licensed local plumbers.
A water heater struggling under Surprise's hard water, a slow drain, a leak in a brand-new Sterling Grove build or a long-settled Sun City Grand home — whatever's wrong, call and tell us what's happening. We'll point you to a licensed local plumber. Ask for a written estimate before any work begins.
What we help with
Whatever's going wrong, a licensed plumber can put it right. Tap any service to learn more, or give us a call, tell us what's happening, and we'll connect you with one.
No hot water this morning, or a tank weeping onto the garage floor? Surprise's water runs 2 to 17 grains per gallon depending on the season, and that scale quietly eats a heater from the inside out. A licensed plumber can tell you whether yours is worth saving or due for replacement — tank or tankless.
Learn moreSlow sinks, a shower that won't drain, a kitchen line that backs up at the worst time. A licensed plumber finds the real clog — not just the part you can reach — and clears it at the source, whether your home is decades old or brand new.
Learn moreMoving into a new build in Sterling Grove, Asante, or North Surprise? The pipes are new, but Surprise's hard water isn't — it starts scaling fixtures from day one. A licensed plumber can test your actual water and tell you whether a softener is worth it.
Learn moreA warm patch on the floor, a water bill that jumped for no reason, or rusty water and falling pressure in an established Surprise home — in neighborhoods like Sun City Grand and Rancho Gabriela, decades of hard water on original lines make both slab leaks and repiping a real possibility. A licensed plumber can pinpoint which one you actually have.
Learn moreFrom a connection that won't stop dripping to a line that's flooding a room, a licensed plumber can shut the water down and make the repair before the damage spreads.
Learn moreA burst pipe, a sewage backup, water spreading across the floor — some problems can't wait. Call and we'll connect you with a licensed local plumber. We can't promise an arrival time, so if safety or property is at risk, contact your utility or 911 first.

Water hard enough to rate "Very Hard" on EPCOR's own scale, established neighborhoods old enough for original supply lines to start failing, and new construction that needs treatment from day one — that's the local picture, and knowing the real cause is half of fixing it right.
We connect you with Arizona contractors licensed by the Registrar of Contractors (ROC). We don't perform the work ourselves — and you can verify any contractor's license at roc.az.gov.
Built for Surprise
In 1938, Flora Mae Statler platted about a square mile of farmland here and reportedly said she'd be surprised if the town ever amounted to much — which is how Surprise got its name. Eighty-eight years later, every tap in this city traces back to a real, named water route, and along the way it picks up minerals hard enough to shape how every pipe and water heater here ages. Here's what to watch for.
EPCOR's own water quality report for the Agua Fria system puts Surprise's hardness at 2 to 17 grains per gallon — at the top of that range, deep into "Very Hard." The swing happens because the supply blends Colorado River surface water with local groundwater, and the mix shifts with the season. Either way, that mineral scale is quietly working on every water heater and fixture in town.
Sun City Grand, Rancho Gabriela, Surprise Farms, and Marley Park's earliest sections all went up in the 1990s and 2000s — old enough that original supply lines and years of hard water start showing up as pinhole leaks, falling pressure, and slab leaks under floors poured over shifting desert soil. The lasting fix is often a repipe; a licensed plumber can tell you if that's what they find.
Sterling Grove, Asante, and the newer North Surprise neighborhoods are a different problem entirely — the pipes are new, but the water is exactly as hard as it is everywhere else in the city. For these homes, the plain answer is usually a water softener or treatment system from the start, not a repiping job.
Every tap in Surprise traces back to the CAP Canal carrying Colorado River water from Lake Havasu, then the Beardsley Canal, to the White Tanks Water Treatment Facility — supplemented by the Agua Fria River held behind Waddell Dam at Lake Pleasant. It's a genuinely local infrastructure story — and it's why this city's water carries so much mineral hardness by the time it reaches your tap.
